Common questions

Is Spider Drop free?

Yes. Spider Drop is free to play in your browser, with no sign-up and no in-app purchases. The Android and iPhone apps are on the way and will be supported by ads, some of them optional (for example, watching a short ad to get one more life).

How do I play?

Drag your finger along the porch to slide your bug-spray can (or use the arrow buttons), and hold SPRAY to spray upward. Small spiders take 3 sprays, medium 5 and large 9. Tap GLUE to freeze a spider for a few seconds and double your spray damage on it. On a keyboard: A/D or the arrow keys to move, Space to spray, G (or W / Up arrow) for glue and P to pause. For a hands-on walkthrough, tap How to play on the main menu.

How do I lose a life?

You lose a life if a spider reaches the porch edge (the red dashed line), drops onto the porch, or bites your can. Baby spiders that land cost points instead. When you run out of lives, you can watch a short ad once per game for one more life.

How do I get more lives?

Every 3 rounds you clear gives you an extra life, and the Heart power-up gives one too. You can hold up to 5 lives.

When do the bonus rounds happen?

After every 5 rounds. The four bonus rounds (Nest Sweep, Golden Hour, Queen's Lair and Porch Light Defense) take turns, then come back faster and busier. Bonus rounds last 30 seconds and never cost you a life.

What do the power-ups do?

Wide nozzle fans your spray out for 8 seconds, Turbo can gives unlimited spray for 6 seconds, Cold snap slows every spider for 6 seconds, Fogger wipes out the lowest row and Heart adds a life. Slide under a falling power-up to catch it. Timed power-ups carry into the next round with whatever time is left.

My best score disappeared. Can you restore it?

Your best score and settings are saved on your device only, so clearing your browser data (or uninstalling the app) resets them. We can't restore local scores, but anything you posted to the leaderboard stays there.

Someone is using an offensive leaderboard name.

Tap the flag next to the name on the leaderboard to report it. Names with several reports are hidden automatically. You can also email us the name and roughly when you saw it, and we'll review and remove it.

There's no sound.

Tap the speaker button at the top of the screen to turn music and sound effects on or off, and check that your device isn't muted or in silent mode. On iPhone, the ring/silent switch can mute web audio. Music starts after your first tap, because browsers block sound until you interact with the page.

Can I turn off vibration?

Yes. Tap Vibration on the main menu to turn it on or off. Vibration works on most Android phones. iPhone browsers don't support it.

Deleting your data

Spider Drop doesn't use accounts, so there's no account to delete. The only information we store on our servers is what you choose to post to the leaderboard: your display name, score, round and posting time.

To remove a leaderboard entry, email support@arrowstack.app with the subject "Spider Drop leaderboard removal request" and include the display name and the approximate score and date. We'll delete the matching entries within 30 days and confirm by email. Everything else the game saves (best score and settings) lives only on your device, and you can delete it by clearing your browser's site data or uninstalling the app.

For information collected by our ad provider in the apps, Google AdMob, see the choices in our Privacy Policy.
